My first choice is to use one syllable words to teach spelling and build to two, then three and so forth. With multi-syllable words I teach where a word "breaks" because the tongue cannot articulate all the syllable at once say in a words such as proficient, or establishment. I love teaching. I earned my BA before I was old enough to vote. While my classmates were in his/her senior year, I was teaching. Eventually I earned my M.Ed. in Reading, then started School Administration and Adult Education.
