Due to my love of reading and writing I have chosen to pursue a degree in the Classics at Whitman College. In 2007 I was asked by a professor to privately tutor another student in Latin. I joined the team at the Academic Resource Center and have been tutoring college students in English and other writing-intensive courses ever since. Meanwhile I have continued my own education in grammar, English, linguistics, and completed essays, creative work, and research papers in various subjects. I love working with children. I have helped with pre-K and grade school children with an emphasis on working with Autistic children. All children can succeed in school given the right tools; just because they do not get the idea from one method does not mean that they won't get it from a different method. I have always loved to teach and have been told by my children that I should have been a teacher. When it comes to math I have found that most people who have trouble with math have simply missed some fundamental along the way.
