Experience Summary
In order to put myself through my college education, I worked nearly full time as a tutor throughout the duration of my college career, continuing past graduation. Academic-minded, I graduated at the top of my class as a valedictorian candidate which is an affirmation of my ability to use critical thinking and creativity with success. In my tutoring experiences, I specialized with students that had severe learning disabilities ranging from ages 6-18 in subjects including mathematics, science, Spanish, English, social studies and history as well as test preparation and study skills.
Teaching Style
Teaching students of all levels is a passion of mine. From my many years of experience around children, I have found that I do not have just one teaching style. Each child is unique and therefore the approach I take with each child is unique. I have had the greatest success in trying different learning methods to tailor each educational program to meet the unique needs of each individual child. My educational background and prior tutoring history have taught me to analyze not only how the child can process the information itself, but to look at the environment and social factors that can affect learning and academic performance. By using this holistic approach, I have found that I have been able to effectively and positively affect each child I have worked with.
