I am a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in Criminal Justice. As former ringmaster for the Greatest Show on Earth, I have performed more than 2000 shows with Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus. Most of my experience comes from a professional hands-on approach in performing, costume designing and constructing. Although I had been temporarily enrolled in an art institute in Atlanta Ga, I am a self read, self taught muralist whose training has come from years of learning and perfecting my craft.

I prefer to use a hands on approach to education. I like to have the kids get engrossed in the subject matter by reading aloud and taking part in discussion sessions. It is my belief that all children have the capacity to succeed in school with the proper tools. The tools that I provide are first and foremost, respecting the students without any bias. In my ten years of experience as a teacher I have accomplished many things of which I am proud. My second year of teaching I was asked to implement a reading intervention program district-wide. After two years of that, I started a school within a school for at-risk students. The last two years of my career I helped to pilot and then implement single gender classrooms school-wide. I believe in teaching through doing. When I taught German I conducted my class almost completely in German (the beginner level), and while this would seem difficult for the students to learn my students scored excellently on their tests. With enough support that they are capable of doing it and flexibility on the side of the teacher, a student can achieve whatever their goals may be, without having the bored of memorization.

I worked at Elohim Center tutoring the kids at an after school homework center in Hartsville, SC. I also worked at Hartsville School of Performing Arts for a short time period. However I provided assistance to the teachers and mentored the children that had potential, but didn't have the extra push in life to motivate them to be more. I worked at Billie Hardee Home for Boys in Darlington, SC as a volunteer I provided teen age boys the assistance in tutoring them with math, reading, and science.
