Born and educated in Great Britain. Graduated Rickmansworth School with Certificates of education in Mathematics, Physics, Biology, English Language and English Literature. Attended Watford College and obtained the equivalent of a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. After emigrating to the United States and serving 4 years in the US Air Force I pursued a career in IBM Mainframe Programming. For 4 years I taught Business Programming at Boulder Vocational/Technical College as well as conducting many in-house training sessions at Storage Tek. Recently I have conducted in-house and 1 on 1 computer and software training sessions for a local not-for-profit.

Patients is a amazing thing to have when trying to teach. Many students learn at a different pace and I feel that finding that pace for every student is important. If you try to cram or learn something to quickly it only become heartache and bad grades.
In College I would form groups to try and study for upcoming test or exams. Doing this it really helped me to learn what I was studying and how other people learn as well.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a teacher, I believe my greatest success comes, not when I set goals for my students and push them towards MY goals, but when I simply facilitate my students pursuit of his/her own personal goals. In my first lesson, I always ask my student what he/she wants to accomplish and work together with them to set short and long term goals that will allow them to pursue learning they way THEY want to. I believe that practice should be enjoyable! I always make sure to use whatever music my student enjoys listening to as a means to teach the foundational skills that are required when playing any form of music. A Little Bit About Me...

I started my education with business management and accounting. As I got further in to my coursework, I realized there was more to business than balancing the checkbook and counting inventory. I started to learn about preparing taxes midway through college and realized that not only did like doing taxes, I also enjoyed helping people. As my knowledge of taxation, from the federal down to municipal level, increased I found myself in a position teaching others to become tax preparers. I enjoyed that experience so much because teaching the topics helped me to understand them better myself.
