My comments on tutoring Genetics : LOVE genetics

As the second oldest of six kids I have a lot of at-home experience in tutoring. With a BA in Biology I feel very equipped to teach children in sciences. I have taken Anatomy, Physiology, Genetics, Biology, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics and every other major science. I intend on taking one year off before attending medical school. If your child needs help in any basic math or any level of science then I'd love to see if I could be a good tutoring fit for him/her. God bless!

As an undergraduate, I tutored mathematics at all levels from beginning algebra to calculus as well as the engineering physics sequence. I was a Teaching Assistant for lower division astronomy and physics labs, providing hands-on instruction as well as giving lectures. As a graduate student I also taught several physics labs tailored to pre-med students. I also have significant vocational experience in molecular biology, biochemistry and genetics.

I love to help children understand a subject better. It is a great feeling to see a student get the idea after being helped. I believe that every student is capable of learning; it all depends on their learning style. In my masters program and while I have been teaching, I have learned many ways to get students engaged in the material they are learning. Some students learn better with one on one and some do better with group work. You just have to try different approaches until you see which one works best. Sometimes it just depends on what is being taught. If you show interest in the student he/she will show more interest in your class or subject area and do better.
