As the second oldest of six kids I have a lot of at-home experience in tutoring. With a BA in Biology I feel very equipped to teach children in sciences. I have taken Anatomy, Physiology, Genetics, Biology, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics and every other major science. I intend on taking one year off before attending medical school. I love to help children understand a subject better. It is a great feeling to see a student get the idea after being helped. I believe that every student is capable of learning; it all depends on their learning style. In my masters program and while I have been teaching, I have learned many ways to get students engaged in the material they are learning. Some students learn better with one on one and some do better with group work. You just have to try different approaches until you see which one works best. Sometimes it just depends on what is being taught. If you show interest in the student he/she will show more interest in your class or subject area and do better.

I love tutoring anyone who is of high school or college age. I firmly believe that when a student doesn't understand something in one way, present it in a different way so that the concept may be understood in a different way. Everyone has a different learning style so evolving the technique to meet the individuals need is paramount.
