American Sign Language Teaching/Tutoring

American Sign Language Teacher for 30+ years. In college/universities. Currently an ASL Teacher at White Bear Lake, MN Psychiatric Social Worker for 25 years. Not currently in practice. I worked in St. Peter Regional Treatment Center with Severe Persistent Mental Ill deaf adults. After this, I worked at MN State Academy for the Deaf for five years as a transition coordinator, working with K-12 students in their transition planning, in compliance with their Individual Educational Plan.
Target language used in classrooms, using naturally method. Teach in ASL without using English.

My comments on tutoring Sign Language : My primary source of communication

Relaxed, fun, easy going, comfortable.
I am currently an ASL instructor at a deaf school, I teach the community and I am looking to help others improve their sign language and also gain experience for myself. I truly enjoy teaching and helping others who are motivated to learn. I use American Sign Language as my primary source for communication, I grew up at a deaf school and come from a deaf family, I am also hard of hearing with a 6th generation of hearing loss in my family.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a Supervisor, and later as Safety Trainer, for the Phone Company, I was called on to present and educate employees of the Phone Company (QWEST) 1970 - 2001. Topics ranged from general safety to technical applications specific to jobs within the company. After retirement from the Phone Company, I began teaching photography to Real Estate professionals, with a MN Department of Commerce approval (course #1003818). I've been a Professional Photographer since 2003.
