I have worked with many young students. Reading, math, spelling... I find helping students very fun. Not only does it benefit them but me as well. I am very patient with people of all ages and I do feel that I have made an impact on many children's lives. I am currently a senior in High School but I am volunteering in my local church classes and volunteering for my local Elementary school as well. I have extensive experience tutoring middle school through high school age students. I began tutoring groups of students as an exchange student in Austria, in 2012, working with 5th through 10th grade students in English at the BRG Koeflach (the local high school) where I was compensated as an official English tutor. In 2013, I assisted in German II, I would take half of the large class of over 30 high school students and teach the lesson for the day. In 2014, I assisted with German II, III and IV classes, answering student questions during lessons and helping in the classroom. I prefer to tutor face to face as opposed to online. I am in my 4th year of college at Texas State University where I have received a mathematics academic achievement award. I believe the first thing you need to do is to find out what the student needs help with. At times I have used music, poetry, or computer programs to get the students attention. Repetition is very helpful and note cards are good for memorization. Taking notes is a good way for the student to stay focused. A little comedy helps too to help students to remember.
