I began tutoring groups of students as an exchange student in Austria, in 2012, working with 5th through 10th grade students in English at the BRG Koeflach (the local high school) where I was compensated as an official English tutor. Taught to every age! I was in Europe for 9 years and opened my own American English School. Taught every level from pre-school to Engineers. Also translated and wrote policies and procedures for the European Union REACH program. Taught 3d and 4th grade in Germany. One example: taught English to German elemantary students using the game of baseball to learn new words. My oldest student was 79 years young! The youngest was 4.
Motivation is first. Find out what students skills are and add what they like to encourage learning. Games are always good to encourage all ages to learn. Repetition! Once their grades improve their self confidence will too. Lots of heart and patience!

Learning through culture and language

I teach in a style which combines different tactics and methods in order to engage the students in the subject. In example, when teaching foreign language I make it a point to incorporate the culture of the native people and their customs along with music and art.
Recently graduated, I have taken four years of Spanish. I taught Spanish III and Spanish II last year with classes ranging in size from 31 to 25 as well as having taught French I and French II in the same year.
