My comments on tutoring Grammar : Grammar like spelling needs a good foundation to build one's skills. Written as well as verbal skills are the tools that everyone needs to advance to their own goals. The importance of adjectives, adverbs, present and past tenses for verbs. A good place for mastering these skills is middle school.

I have worked in several different types of industries from hotels, restaurants, travel, mortgage companies, transportation, banks, theater, real estate and other primarily service businesses. Most of my interests lie in the financial and accounting parts of these businesses because of the importance of not only being able to present an accurate picture of the company's condition at only one time, but also to make sure that there were no mistakes, thefts being covered up, or other discrepancies. Very large companies have had loans go bad due to the improper accounting of transactions by the business owners.
My teaching style needs to respond to the needs of the individual. There are several styles of learning so I need to understand the individual to best know how to teach them the skills they need to pass the course.

As a student, I had the chance to participate in the Americorps program, where I developed and implemented programs for at-risk youth. My programs encompassed but were not limited to, ecology, animal husbandry, writing, reading, and the arts. Since then I have earned two bachelor's degrees, a BA in Education, and a BA in Elementary Education, with minors in communications and liberal arts.

I prefer to work with small groups of students or individuals as it is easier to meet each student's needs. I am very concise and methodical, but am also sensitive enough to pace myself according to the student's needs. I feel as an educator it is always important to learn from the students before you can teach them. The most necessary factor to success is being able to recognize just how the student learns and be able to take your teaching methods and adjust accordingly. Having had many good professors, teachers and tutors personally, I feel that this approach makes a world of a difference.
