i take a more relaxed route of teaching. i have found that if you sit there and point out faults and appear like you expect them to get it right on the first try it will turn the student away from you and cause them to hate the subject and ultimately fail. i take a more friendly route. talk about myself admit faults that i have when they appear. i try to become friends with the student in question and add fun with learning. if there is something specific that is needed extra attention to i will ask them to do the problem and point out there faults. i do not do everything for them. i let them test there knowledge and provide support when needed.

My comments on tutoring World History : I am a bit of a history buff. I really enjoy it, particularly European history (especially World War II).

I do my best to lead the student to an answer or solution rather than telling them what to do. I do my best to find out the students learning style and adapt to his or her needs
Very ealry on in college my English professor recommended me for tutoring English. I am not an expert, but I found I was good at helping people with their writing.I also tutored beginner Russian students while I was studying at UVM. I also helped my Russian professor correct homework and tests. outside of school, I have a good year of experience substitute teaching and was often recommended for one-on-one assignments.

A Little Bit About Me...

In my experience as a musician, I have found that teaching a subject I love can really inspire students to excel. It's necessary to spread our knowledge to others. My specialty is music, but I love to teach in general because kids need good mentors. Each child is different so I use an individualized approach to my teaching styles. We all learn differently whether we are auditory, visual, or kinesthetic learners. During my college years, at Colorado College, while obtaining my education minor and majoring in history, I was able to tutor young children that were having reading problems in elementary school. I have also done some student teaching in a 9th grade geography class. Also, I student taught an 8th grade language arts class, where I was able to incorporate art with literature, stressing the importance of art in the classroom. Recently, I was able to hold a position with a company called Science Matters- it is an elementary after-school program with a focus on science. I have found that no matter how much anyone person would like to teach, no one can force someone to learn. With that in mind, if I remember to approach each student as an individual with his or her own abilities, concerns, and goals, I will have a more successful result as an educator. Three teachers impacted my life not only as a result of the content of their classes but in their delivery. All three approached learning as an adventure. Even though the topics ranged from sixth grade mathematics to fluid dynamics each teacher keyed their presentation on the reception of the students. If the first presentation didn’t get the topic across an alternative presentation was made, often in a humorous vein. Students were never allowed to feel inadequate.
