My comments on tutoring Political Science : I have my B.A. in History and a minor in Philosophy from the University of Colorado. It would be juxtaposed if anyone claimed to understand Political Science, but I do have a minor in philosophy and I am an avid follower of contemporary politics. Today will be history tomorrow!

A Little Bit About Me...

I have found that no matter how much anyone person would like to teach, no one can force someone to learn. With that in mind, if I remember to approach each student as an individual with his or her own abilities, concerns, and goals, I will have a more successful result as an educator. I have learned that each individual has at least one trigger, for want of a better word, which will entice them unconsciously to want to learn. One of my goals is to find that element. Three teachers impacted my life not only as a result of the content of their classes but in their delivery. All three approached learning as an adventure. Even though the topics ranged from sixth grade mathematics to fluid dynamics each teacher keyed their presentation on the reception of the students. If the first presentation didn’t get the topic across an alternative presentation was made, often in a humorous vein. Students were never allowed to feel inadequate. Many of the students I trained were sent by their employers. So often, the student’s frame of mind wasn’t the most open to the learning experience. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a holistic teacher who likes for students to experience the subject. For example I would have student immerse themselves into the subject of history and complete a project and present it to the other students. It was really successful and had students waiting all year.
When working towards my teaching certification I was in many classrooms from Kindergarten to 12th Grade in Pueblo School District 60.
