My teaching experience has been diverse. I have taught fifth grade through college level, and I have taught in different areas of English: grammar, writing, literature, speech, reading,etc. I have tutored elementary students in reading and writing. I currently teach composition at the community college level to mainly non-traditional students.
With so many years of experience, I have watched educational trends come and go and come back again! My own style is simple and has served me well with all levels: discover the student's passion and build on it through reading, writing, research, and talking to him/her. I have never worked with a student who doesn't want to learn. Resistance is usually fear of failure. I love the challenge of figuring out how each student learns.

While still in the service, I utilized my lunch breaks and evenings to further my education and emerged with my AA and completed Nurse Assistant training while still serving and my BS only one year later; two months after retiring.
