My teaching experience has been diverse. I have taught fifth grade through college level, and I have taught in different areas of English: grammar, writing, literature, speech, reading,etc. I have tutored elementary students in reading and writing. I currently teach composition at the community college level to mainly non-traditional students.
With so many years of experience, I have watched educational trends come and go and come back again! I learned to easily adapt to various learning styles, learning barriers, and researching subjects. While still in the service, I utilized my lunch breaks and evenings to further my education and emerged with my AA and completed Nurse Assistant training while still serving and my BS only one year later; two months after retiring. A whole new world blossomed for me. Teaching clients to use their computers turned out to be a long term and very rewarding experience. During my thirteen years as The Computer Tutor I encountered a multitude of student learning difficulties.
