I started out working as a Head Start teacher's assistant and the following year I was promoted to Head Start teacher and manager. Most Math books recommend teaching for about half the class and then let students work some problems in class. I find this works well, it allows questions and the class becomes interactive. I encourge questions while I am introducing a subject and find it gives me a chance to use different examples to get a poinnt across.
