I have tutored math, chemistry and physics both officially and unofficially throughout most of my undergraduate education. My BS in physics, as well as my work in an atmospheric physics lab, has given me a strong mathematical and physical science background. I have tutored, and taught some classes in summers and winter breaks both while at UMBC, and at Towson, where I currently attend graduate school for education.
I belief that conceptual understanding is the foundation of learning. Teaching kids to solve a specific problem that they can't do doesn't accomplish much, in my opinion.
