A Little Bit About Me...

I have always wanted to teach. When I was a child I would round up the kids in my neighborhood and make them do lessons that I created. I do remember they did not like that. I went to college and earned a BS in Biology always knowing that I would eventually teach the sciences. I was an excellent student and have always found pride in myself on my ability to communicate with clearity. I have one year of tutoring experience at the k-12 level. Attaining a degree in the sciences has helped me to develop key writing as well as key listening skills. I am very capable of tutoring in most subjects.
I would say that my teaching style is very interactive. Anyone can give instructions but I love feedback from a one on one situation as well as a group environment. I base alot of my instruction on analogies; when a person can relate an experience or another word to a term being tought, t ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

The most important qualities of outstanding educators are experience, creativity, and patience. Each quality needs to be developed or tested by time in order to increase in its overall effectiveness. Teachers who can consistently employ all three qualities throughout their careers will be successful educators. It will take a lot of effort and hard work as an educator to successfully integrate the qualities of experience, creativity, and patience into their teaching styles. The effort and hard work will result in the development and establishment of those important qualities within teachers. In turn, the qualities will help those outstanding teachers to continue working hard with unquestionable effort.
Through the course load of my college career my studies also incorporated normal life span development, personality development, abnormal development, prevention, group behavior, ... read more

More About This Tutor...

My primary objective is for the students I teach to understand the concepts and do as well as they are capable in the courses. In addition, I want the students I teach to develop critical thinking and the ability to problem solve. I can accomplish this by being knowledgeable, citing examples and answering questions in a way that can help them to better understand the subject matter. I will generally include a number of early background lectures to make sure all the students start off at the same point.
I worked as a Chemistry lab TA in college and I taught the labs. As a graduate student I trained other grad students and techs, often taking them through 10 to 12 weeks of continuous mentoring. I have 3 years of project management experience. I hired and trained all the technicians for a small lab. This training in all instances included hands on as well as subject matter.
