A Little Bit About Me...

I have always wanted to teach. When I was a child I would round up the kids in my neighborhood and make them do lessons that I created. I do remember they did not like that. I went to college and earned a BS in Biology always knowing that I would eventually teach the sciences. I was an excellent student and have always found pride in myself on my ability to communicate with clearity. I have one year of tutoring experience at the k-12 level. Attaining a degree in the sciences has helped me to develop key writing as well as key listening skills. I am very capable of tutoring in most subjects.

My primary objective is for the students I teach to understand the concepts and do as well as they are capable in the courses. In addition, I want the students I teach to develop critical thinking and the ability to problem solve. I can accomplish this by being knowledgeable, citing examples and answering questions in a way that can help them to better understand the subject matter. I worked as a Chemistry lab TA in college and I taught the labs. As a graduate student I trained other grad students and techs, often taking them through 10 to 12 weeks of continuous mentoring.
