Individualized learning/teaching for optimal comprehension

I take a hands on material approach to learning/teaching. I feel that young students learn best when they can physically learn, such as through blocks/puzzles/interactive learning devices and other similar approaches. I try to let the student use their hands as much as I can to aid in their learning process. For older students such as my high school students or their college counterparts I use more direct audial teaching and visual teaching styles. Every person learns differently, so I cater my teaching style to each individual learner.

Physics is one of my top subjects! I loved this class I passed it with an A understood everything without asking questions.

I tutor my mom with college math when I was in middle school. I also helped my cousin when I was in middle school with all her subjects in high school. Now I am helping my sister with her elementary classes. I am more invovled with math since I did welding as a technical degree. Presently I am a Supplemental Faculty in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Delaware. My BS in physics, as well as my work in an atmospheric physics lab, has given me a strong mathematical and physical science background. I have tutored, and taught some classes in summers and winter breaks both while at UMBC, and at Towson, where I currently attend graduate school for education.
I belief that conceptual understanding is the foundation of learning. Teaching kids to solve a specific problem that they can't do doesn't accomplish much, in my opinion.
