Physics is one of my top subjects! I have taught Physics on the high school level for over ten years and at DeVry University for over twenty years.

I am able to break a complex problem into small, discrete steps which the students seem to appreciate. An approach I use in my teaching is the I rarely will tell the student outright what to do to get the answer or just what the answer is. I will quiz the student in the steps they took to reach the point where they are stuck. If there is a misstep they took in their work, I will ask them leading questions in an effort to help them discover where they went astray, followed by questions to help them realize the step they should have taken. Then I will guide them through reasoning out what the remaining steps for solving the problem should be. When I was teaching high school freshman Algebra I, I develop a strategy for mastering word problems that was successful to the point that students actually enjoyed doing word problems.
I have taught both high school and college level c ... read more

Give my profile a read, maybe I have what you need!

Have mentored students in a relaxed manner as well as in a strict scheduled manner, can do both. For Math/Sciences I generally use example problems to help learn a core concept then use an application style problem to help the student solidify their understanding, rather than just memorize the process. Strong skills editing a students writing, both creative and technical. I enjoy coding and CAD and have developed a few methods that the student can use to help them debug issues. If we somehow come across something unknown to me, I have a library of reference material and will find the correct answer promptly (and on my own time, not on your dime)

Math was never an issue for me, I was always ahead of the curve in my math scores, and when I got the chance to relate that math ability to economics, it all made sense. Economics is second-nature to me. Economics puts calculus into real-world situations. Breezed through it in high school and first couple years of college, realized it would be an excellent thing for me to major in. Economics is all about logic, and being a logical person, economics always came easy. When you think logically, you are thinking economically. In economic problems, you always assume the agents in the problem will act in their best interest.

Enthusiastic learner and tutor!

With respect to tutoring, I worked during the summer of 2009 as a teachers assistant for a summer-school program known as Korea Poly. The students were 3-6th graders and required assistance in completing homework and practicing and refining their English writing and speaking skills. My duties included checking and correcting homework assignments, and being available during the homework hours for questions and help. In addition I have been the recipient of tutoring before, so I am familiar with student considerations and concerns when it comes to having a tutor.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a recent graduate of Arizona State University. Having used tutors myself I know of the great help that they can be to one who is struggling with a certain subject. Having experience with tutors and in tutoring others in mathematics has been a great help and a great source of joy in my life. Using my knowledge and passion for a subject and the ability to use the materials that a student is currently using to teach them is a source of pride for me. I enjoy being able to review a topic to see how it has been presented and then taking ques from the student to find how they best the material and then help them find a way to make it work for them.
I believe that there is not one way to teach everybody. Everyone learns in a different way and at different speeds. I like to help a person understand a topic in the best way for them, not just learn how to use a formula to crank out a num ... read more

My comments on tutoring Physics : I teach: Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work- Power- Energy, Gravitation, Mechanical and Thermal properties, Properties of Liquid, Simple Harmonic Motion, Waves, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Magnetism, Electromagnetic Induction, Alternating Current, Ray Optics, Wave Optics, Dual nature of wave and Particles, Atoms and Nuclei.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE: I have been teaching Physics to Engineering and Medical college aspirants since 2002 Several of my students cleared entrance examinations and joined prestigious engineering and medical institutions. I have taught in one-to-one, group tutoring and online tutoring. I have also coached Engineering students in subjects which are offshoots of Physics- ? Engineering Drawing, ? Engineering Mechanics ? Kinematics Of Machine, ? Machine Design, ? Dynamics of Machine etc.
I take pride in my teaching methodology, my presentation and communication skills and the way I make subject easily understandable. I firmly believe that explaining the basics and making it understood is the most essential aspect of coaching. I ensure it by asking simple conceptual questions after the class and by gradually increasing the level of complexity. I proceed only when I am sure ... read more

I have helped many students with various subjects in which I specialize. I've aided people of Hispanic origin to speak and understand English, as well as help English speakers with their Spanish speaking skills. For example, I currently work in a housekeeping office and have daily "students" who ask me specific questions in regards to English. In addition, I have trained managers in my department in basic housekeeping vocabulary, as well help to improve their conversational skills. Because I've always been advanced in Mathematics, I've always helped fellow classmates and members of sports teams with their skills in this area as well. This is inclusive to my older brother, who currently is enrolled in a Statistics and Probability course with which I offer my assistance.
I feel that my patience, attentiveness, and ability to relate to specific students help me with my style of tutor ... read more

I always try to ask the student what they think they are weak in. Always try to change the teaching method so that the student does not fall in a routine every session. They sometimes decide on doing, for example, in math, inventing their own equation and participating in their own learning.
I have been teaching and tutoring students for over 10 years. I teach students up to grade 12. I have been working in Canada as a tutor and worked with dyslexic students as well. I taught math and excelled myself with a high gpa up to grade 12.

My interests and abilities in mathematics, physics, soccer, cycling, and triathlon is a result of developing in a gender-free environment. My upper-level college mathematics courses were my first experience with just how much women were underrepresented in the sciences. I was genuinely intimidated and surprised by the lack of females in my classes. During those years, I questioned my ability more often than not. Although I did not earn straight A’s, I did learn that I am equally as able to succeed in mathematics as the males that continue to surround me. I can now take on challenges and overcome gender stereotypes that would limit most women. I was fortunate to learn that gender, race, religion, etc. does not dictate where one succeeds.
I enjoy making mathematics understandable to anyone. Often times I work with students who are overwhelmed by mathematics “foreign language” and ar ... read more

I like teaching one-on-one but I do have classroom experience from substitute teaching. I teach by example and encourage the student to ask as many questions as possible. I typically will not go to another topic until the current one is understood. In terms of teaching math, my style incorporates less use of a calculator and more "thinking". For example, instead of just saying "memorize that anything to the zero power equals 1", I will teach the student WHY that is through examples. I explain to the student ahead of time what is expected in terms of preparation for the session and any work that is assigned.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate of a college known as the Ivy League of the South and a highly ranked business school, I am very driven to teach others to achieve success in their education experience. I have earned my bachelor degree in Accounting while working full time and later went back to school studying medicine. I am now a Tutor in several of the most frustrating and demanding subjects: Accounting, Calculus, Algebra, Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology and Physics. I enjoy teaching and bring fun into all my lesson plans.
It is my goal to enhance learning to help your child get their homework done and for them to learn valuable skills along the way. I care about your child's frustration and boredom with homework and understand that success is built on minimizing distractions, breaking each problem down and creating a comfortable, quiet setting.

A Little Bit About Me...

The teaching style I have is really a mix of all styles. I was exposed to teaching classes as an undergraduate student. One class really taught me the importance of building a teaching style with all of the learning styles involved. Whether it is visual, kinesthetic, audio, or reading, a good teacher will take the time to incorporate all of these into their style. I think this is so important especially when working with children because a child is at a very impressionable age with great imagination. When all of these styles are incorporated it brings the learner a well rounded approach that allows them to stay engaged and adapt to all styles of learning, making them a well rounded student.
My experience consists of tutoring college students in the subject areas I learned for a Bachelors degree in Health Science. This consists of: General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics, Phys ... read more

I love both teaching and tutoring. It is a joy to me to be able to help students learn. I believe in the constructivist theory of learning. We learn by doing. Thus, I don't believe in merely showing a student the solution to a problem. She must work through the problem herself, using an approach that works well for her. My job as tutor is to provide guidance, supporting the student at first, then gradually dropping my support as he gains confidence in his own abilities. Techniques I use include asking leading questions and demonstrating ways of solving similar problems. I also try to ascertain exactly where the student is having difficulty, so that I can help her in the areas where she needs the most help. Making a difference and helping young people grow is what education is all about!
Because of my strong interest in education, I am changing my career field from computer ... read more
