My comments on tutoring Journalism : I have a master's degree in English and have taught composition at a community college.

I have experience teaching at a two-year university and a two-year college, in composition, communications, and public speaking. I have also run an educational non-profit that works with students to set college and career goals. I hold a PhD in Educational Leadership. Education is my passion, and I would love to help local students excell!
I believe in working with students, not talking at them. I ask lots of questions and make sure students retain the information and can apply it to the real world.

I am a hands on kind of teacher. I like to find ways to make teaching come to life and be a fun and enjoyable experience for the student. The more one on one I can be the better. I think you can be a better teacher when you know and understand your students more. I still maintain a great relationship with girls I counseled at camp back in 2001 and 2002. Many of my students from Korea also still keep in touch with me. Building a relationship is very important to the learning process. I like to take students to places they've never been before. As a graduate from UNC with a degree in English, I have gained an in-depth understanding of the English language. Through this rigorous program, I was consistently expected to provide strongly written and grammatically accurate essays that proved I had achieved an above-average analytical understanding of many forms of literature.
