Admittedly, I have no direct (structured) teaching experience. However, I have nearly five years of experience in the journalism field, and during that time I've mentored a number of fledgling college and high school journalists. And while journalism and political science are my two specialties -- given that I have degrees in both -- I also have a fair amount of expertise in the tangential fields of English and History. I do not have a particular teaching style because I don't believe that a single method works for everyone. Therefore, I operate from an Occam's Razor perspective -- whatever is the simplest solution is the best. I believe I am very empathetic and perceptive, which would enable me to determine what works best for each student.

My teaching syle is on a personal one-on-one basis with instruction both thru lecture, hands on and multi-media applications. I believe students only learn thru a multi-level program. Through out junior high and I high school I have tutrored fellow students in the area of math, from basic to geometry, trig and calculus. I majored in computer engineering because of my love for math but I knew all the time that I should have been teaching. During my Sophomore Year at College of Charleston I worked in the Math Lab tutoring all levels of classical mathematics up to Calculus III. I happened to be the only tutor who checked a box saying I could help high school students, and therefore worked with every family who called the college looking for a math tutor. After that year had a very large math tutoring business on the side, and over the last 10 years I have privately tutored mathematics and offered SAT and ACT Prep services at many of the finest academic institutions in Charleston, SC.
