My teaching style is simple. I apply real-world applications to each subject helping each student find that connection for better understanding. Making the learning experience fun helping my students retain the information that is learned.
I have been providing tutoring and music lessons for 20 years. I studied French Horn on full scholarship at the University of Arizona. I have been playing music professionally (getting paid ;-) since I was 18. I play just about every wind instrument know to man. I have been working professionally in the health care field since 1996. I earned my bachelor's in Health Promotion in 2004 with a 4.0 GPA. I have been volunteering at my children's school for 7 years, coaching chess and soccer. A Little Bit About Me...

All through college I Tutored children at-risk and/or having a disability. I determined individual needs and apply a variety of methods to help children learn. As a first grade teaching after school I tutor first grader with reading and math. I like children to learn in a fun way. Students need to get up and learn. Worksheets are not something that I like to do when tutoring. Children sit in a desk all day. They do not want to then go and tutor and sit some more. I like to get the kids up and learning.
I like children to get up and move and learn. All students learn differently and it is up to me to learn what it is and then use that to help them learn.

My comments on tutoring Elementary Social Studies : I am well able to teach any Elementary subject.

I work best in one on one or small groups. I am capable with larger groups as well. My favorite approach is the Charlotte Mason approach. I have worked with a wide variety of Educational Philosophies/Methods and will draw from them when needed.
I have taught in a wide variety of educational settings. These settings include working in the public schools With Educable Mentally Challenged students,Multilingual classrooms and several self contained elementary classes.I have taught in educational cooperatives, Homeschooled my own children up to college and tutored. My approach to teaching is that all children can learn given opportunities in a "safe" environment. I taught many students with learning challenges and I had to individualize their program. I used multiple intelligences to help students learn using their strengths to help them with their weaknesses. It made learning more fun and easier for them to grasp.
