As a graduate of the University of Colorado with Degrees in a BS in Mathematics and a BS in Civil Engineering, I was very much driven to a high level of excellence in education and further learning. Additionally, I spent twenty years in the USMC, achieving the rank of Major, which gave me much self esteem in professionalism. I held several positions in the Military including being a Fixed Wing Pilot, Battalion Administrative Officer (Adjutant) and Intelligence Analysis Officer with a Reserve Unit in Denver for over 6 years. My teaching style is defined by my father, a teacher and coach. Successful in both the classroom and on the athletic field, he made sure that each student and athlete knew what was expected of them. What was expected of them was a mixture of hard work, discipline, sacrifice, and success. Success measured not necessarily by winning, for example, but by doing the best one can do with the gifts they had been given. In the end each student and athlete would learn the fundamentals of the given subject/sport to later in life build upon for their pleasure and, if necessary, to apply in a career capacity.
