In 2009, I completed a profession editing certificate to add to my degrees in English and rhetoric. Because of this experience, I am confident teaching and tutoring the humanities (English, history, philosophy, etc.) at high-school and college levels. For two years, I have taught all subjects as an aid in a fourth and fifth grade special day (SDC) class. This experience has taught me effective ways to teach difficult material to young learners with particular learning needs. I am comfortable lecturing on various subjects. As a graduate student at UC Berkeley, I was a TA for twelve semesters in a range of physics classes. In 2002 I won the UC Berkeley Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor award. After graduating I was a lecturer for 2 years at 50% time. This was at California College of the Arts in San Francisco. There I developed and taught new coursed in math, physics and programming that were fine tuned for the needs of the architecture students. Teaching can be a most wonderful adventure. I believe every child can learn. At times students or overwhelming with new concepts, and they need to be encouraged, and praise until they can accomplish the task at hand.
