I received a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Music from the College-Conservatory of Music of the University of Cincinnati. However, I completed a Ph.D. in Education at the University of Florida in 1990. I was a full-time special needs teacher at Oak Park School in Sarasota, Florida from 1998 until 2006. After 33 years of trial law, I decided to teach full time. I have taught various classes off and on since 1972. I have tutored students for the last two years, including 15 middle school english and math students this last year in Hernando County. I also helped these students with science, geography, and social sciences. I now live in Tampa.
All children can learn if properly motivated. I use a modified socratic method of teaching, engaging the child in a dialogue about the subject matter. We explore together using books and the internet to find answers. All of my students improved in their school work in a dramatic fashion. Some saw their grades jump as much as 60%.
