As a college graduate, I have been educated on a wide variety of topics which I achieved high academic excellence. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in communication disorders and psychology. These subjects have allowed me to gain knowledge about the basic maths and sciences as well as about people. Moreover, through my college experience, I have extremely sufficient grammatical skills due to the numerous research papers I have written. Since high school, I have mentored 4th and 5th grade students in reading and math, taught Girl Scouts life skills, and assisted many peers in studying the areas of communication disorders and psychology. I believe that a big part of teaching is listening and observing. Not every student learns the same way, so it is important to be patient and try to understand what works best for the student. In many cases, examples are helpful in learning. Examples that are tailored to a specific student (e.g. drawing correlations to cooking for measurements, or sports for averages) can be a great basis for understanding concepts. I have done classroom teaching and one-on-one teaching. I prefer the one-on-one approach because it is so effective, and so satisfying for myself and the student when progress is made.
