Experience Summary
During my own college career, I have attained experience working with students as a tutor, teacher's assistant, and peer. I have always enjoyed working with students and feel that my work and coursework experience has adequately prepared me for this position.
As a recent graduate from UCLA,I have taken mathematics courses ranging from Pre-Algebra to Calculus, including Statistics. My degree from UCLA was in Biology and so I am very comfortable working as a science tutor.
I also have one year’s experience as a peer math tutor for San Bernardino Valley College and I was also a part of a year-long program at UCLA called California Teach, where I was able to work as a teacher's assistant for elementary, junior high, and high school levels.
Teaching Style
As a tutor, I know I will be responsible for teaching, tutoring, and offering assistance on various math assignments and test preparations to students. I have worked with students both privately and in group sessions.
I am a very patient person, friendly, and optimistic. I truly believe that I can make a difference in a student's life because I have experienced it before. When I was a peer math tutor, I found it to be so rewarding to be able to help a student get through a difficult course with my assistance and encouragement. I look forward to experiencing these rewards again as a tutor with this program.
