I believe that each student has the ability to learn and understand material as long as they are taught the right tools to harness their potential. I am patient with each student, allowing them to learn at their own pace. My teaching style allows my student to feel comfortable and confident to use the learning tools I supply. I believe students learn best if their coursework is designed to be discovered rather than set as something to simply memorize. My goal is to have each student achieve their learning goals as well as to develop a desire to learn more.
In 2009, I graduated from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor degree in Classics with a minor in Art History. I believe that all children can learn if they are motivated to do so. Therefore, I believe that the best way to teach a child is to do it in a way that will allow them to take the initiative in their own learning. I want the children to enjoy learning through discovery of the material in their own unique way (not how I want them to learn). I firmly believe in Howard Gardner's theories of multiple intelligences which states that everybody has their own way of learning whether it's visual, auditory, kinesthetic etc...
