Each child has an individual learning style the teacher needs to discover and build upon. I believe there are many tried and proven methods of education that schools have used over the years to educate students that are still valid. My task as a tutor is to find out something about the difficulties they are having with a particular subject or lesson, and then plot a path that will lead them to success in the particular lesson they are having trouble with. I have always been a believer in giving students a foundation from which to learn and grow. I enjoy teaching students basic skills that can be applied to many different subject areas. For example, I think things like test-taking skills, communication skills, and problem-solving skills are all things that can transfer between subject areas and even outside of the classroom.
