I like explain the problem to the students and then let them work on few problems on their own. I would then correct the problems that the students were working on and ask if they need any questions. If the students have questions or if they did not get the right answer I would then go over the problems together with the students and have them practice until they have the strategy down. I have been working for a local High School for 3 years now as an instructional assistant. Currently I have 3 math classes. I have 2 pre-algebra classes and one geometry. With every student I’ve worked with I’ve found that the key to truly appreciating the creative joys of art (whether it be writing, drama, film or painting) is to make clear the inexorable link between the basics of reading and writing and creative freedom. I work to find those aspects of a subject that are going to cause a particular challenge for a student and those aspects that will come more easily. In the process of earning my BA in History (minor in Archaeology), I became familiar with a broad range of historical subjects. My certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) gave me a familiarity with mathematics and statistics, as well as conventions of scientific research and reporting. My MA required a publication-ready thesis, which would not have been possible without organization and self-motivation. It is widely acknowledged that students learn in a variety of ways.
