I have a Bachelor's degree in English Writing from the University of Nevada, Reno, and am currently in the process of applying to graduate school for Creative Writing. During the past year, I have tutored part-time as a writing tutor through the in-home tutoring company Study Buddies. Recently, I have had work published in the University of Nevada's "Brushfire" literary magazine and the Nevada Historical Society's archive. A Little Bit About Me...

During my years at Rocky Mountain College, I not only gained my degree in Literature with a minor in writing, but I also began teaching. As a student, I tutored an adorable foreign exchange student for a semester. I also served as a senior editor to the student publication Soliloquy, in which I selected, edited, and arranged writing pieces in the journal. I was also the dorm paper advisor, charging only a box of Chewy Chips Ohoy cookies for my paper editing skills, answering questions as to why you needed a period there instead of the never ending run-on sentence. After graduating, I stayed on at the college as the Activities Director and taught 3 freshman orientation classes. I am passionate about teaching and learning, and I love all people. I am an advocate of task-based learning, multiple intelligences, and the all-around inductive/constructivist approach to learning. I am a firm believer in the idea that all people have the same innate capacity to learn, but that this is manifested in different ways.
