Learners need to obtain information from a variety of stimuli to fully understand a concept. What is successful for one student may not work for an other. Therefore, I try to present each topic in several different ways. For example, on a recent unit in mass-mass stoichiometry, students were able to witness a demonstration, complete a laboratory experience, have discussions on the subject, and then practice. During my senior year in high school, I tutored and mentored at a program named AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination). This program is designed to prepare students for college. My job was to help students with any subject they were having trouble with. Math was the most common subject that students needed help with the most.
