Learners need to obtain information from a variety of stimuli to fully understand a concept. What is successful for one student may not work for an other. Therefore, I try to present each topic in several different ways. For example, on a recent unit in mass-mass stoichiometry, students were able to witness a demonstration, complete a laboratory experience, have discussions on the subject, and then practice. By breaking the information down to the simplest form and giving students a variety of avenues to understand, the students were able to succeed.

A Little Bit About Me...

Learning should be both meaningful and fun. I have work experience with children of all ages and mental capacities. I worked at a facility called St. Mary's Home for Disabled Children, as a recreation therapist. While there, I worked with special needs children and designed fun/educational programs for them. I have also volunteered at a local library coordinating "craft time" for toddlers. My goal is to help the student become stronger and more confident in the area that they need help.
