Experience Summary
Education is very important to me. Just recently, I have graduated with honors and magna cum laude from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. My undergraduate GPA in college was 3.95 and my High School GPA was a 3.98.
In the past four years, I have taught Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry laboratory. I have also tutored students in chemistry and statistics in the past. Math and science are areas that I am very passionate about. In every class that I've taken, I have helped my peers to grasp the material by spending additional time in "study groups".
My future plans are to practice Pediatric medicine and I will be attending medical school in Fall 2011.
Teaching Style
Learning should be both meaningful and fun. I have work experience with children of all ages and mental capacities. I worked at a facility called St. Mary's Home for Disabled Children, as a recreation therapist. While there, I worked with special needs children and designed fun/educational programs for them. I have also volunteered at a local library coordinating "craft time" for toddlers.
My goal is to help the student become stronger and more confident in the area that they need help. This is why I try to get to know people to better understand how to tutor them.
