I don't have any formal training within the english tutoring or teaching worlds; however, I have always been a "go-to" for friends and classmates whenever they had questions or concerns about their assignments. I volunteered at the Ocean County Library writing center for four years and helped my peers construct, organize, and layout essays. I also proofread, edited, and helped in the creative process of their essays. I am curreently working part-time at Ocean County Library (Lakewood Branch) tutoring k-12 students after school in the S.M.A.R.T kids program. I focus on starting small and helping the student develop on their own. For example, when I teach how to write a strong essay, we write many drafts of an introduction.
