My most important position was acting as Director of Education for Sylvan Learning, where I basically ran the learning center. At the moment, I am working for the Professional Service Group of Central New Jersey as a Managing Editor of their Multi-Author Blog (MAB). I come up with story ideas and assign them to Writers. I edit articles, write headlines, work closely with the Layout Editor to make sure the articles are formatted correctly online.
I will use examples to teach. I will provide students with examples of the correct and incorrect ways to write a sentence. I will show pupils how to proofread their work for spelling and grammatical errors so that they do not rely solely on their spellchecker.

A Little Bit About Me...

I focus on starting small and helping the student develop on their own. For example, when I teach how to write a strong essay, we write many drafts of an introduction. Then, we write many drafts of body paragraphs. Last, we would focus on writing a conclusion. Then, by working seperately on all of an essay's parts, the combined product is much stronger. The art of teaching is similiar to building a house: you start with an idea, then a foundation, and finally the framework.
I volunteered at the Ocean County Library writing center for four years and helped my peers construct, organize, and layout essays. I also proofread, edited, and helped in the creative process of their essays. I am curreently working part-time at Ocean County Library (Lakewood Branch) tutoring k-12 students after school in the S.M.A.R.T kids program.
