My experience entails a well rounded experience of teaching students from preK to adult. My most important position was acting as Director of Education for Sylvan Learning, where I basically ran the learning center. I supervised teachers and all student programs, conferred with parents from the beginning to the end of their experience with Sylvan, and did so much more to develop a positive experience with all clients and teachers involved. A Little Bit About Me...

I focus on starting small and helping the student develop on their own. For example, when I teach how to write a strong essay, we write many drafts of an introduction. Then, we write many drafts of body paragraphs. Last, we would focus on writing a conclusion. Then, by working seperately on all of an essay's parts, the combined product is much stronger. The art of teaching is similiar to building a house: you start with an idea, then a foundation, and finally the framework.
I volunteered at the Ocean County Library writing center for four years and helped my peers construct, organize, and layout essays. I also proofread, edited, and helped in the creative process of their essays. I am curreently working part-time at Ocean County Library (Lakewood Branch) tutoring k-12 students after school in the S.M.A.R.T kids program.

I began tutoring K through 5th graders at an elementary school. Many of my students only spoke Spanish at home. From then, I continued tutoring elementary school students with a wide range of abilities. A few of my students were gifted, and we worked on sharpening their already existing skills. Many of my students struggled in a specific area, and we were able to incorporate general study skills into our lessons. I was able to help all of my students with book reports and other projects that were more time consuming than regular homework assignments.
