Private Music Lessons for concert band instruments and piano

I teach many varied methodologies in order to best serve the individual learning styles of the students.
I am a certified music teacher from New York. I relocated in Florida in 2012 after retiring from public school music teaching. A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching! I am so glad that I get to do what I love. While teaching, I have found a real love of tutoring. I feel it is a better way to meet the needs of my students. I believe many students learn at different rates and some students just need more time. Tutoring allows time for one on one interaction, where I as the tutor can find where the student has deficiencies. This tells me where I need to start and what we need to work on, to get the student where they need to be. This is our goal, to get the students to be successful in the classroom and in life.

I have been working with children for 15 years through various organizations and activities. I have been a fulltime teacher for 2 years and currently teach Kindergarten. I enjoy helping children reach their full potential and seeing their excitement when they master a challenging topic.
I like to show students hands-on methods of solving problems. I believe this helps to make the information concrete and not easily forgotten. I feel each child learns differently and if one method does not succeed there is always another to try until we reach one that works for that child. A Little Bit About Me...

I have a degree in Middle School Education that allows me to teach Language Arts and Social Studies, and have a Master's degree in English which allows me to teach at the high school and community college level. I have taught middle school in the public and private arena ( I wrote the curriculum and self-analysis for the private school's accreditation). I was a long term and short term substitute in all areas and grades for more than 10 years, and have been a tutor in a variety of subjects since college.
