Private Music Lessons for concert band instruments and piano

I teach many varied methodologies in order to best serve the individual learning styles of the students.
I am a certified music teacher from New York. I relocated in Florida in 2012 after retiring from public school music teaching. My major instrument is clarinet, and I teach all woodwind instruments, brass instruments and piano. My students range from beginners to most talented, experienced performers. I have performed with many professional concert bands, jazz ensembles and show orchestras. A Little Bit About Me...

I have always known I wanted to be a teacher. I fulfilled my dream by getting my Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education. Before graduating college I took and passed my Professional Teacher Certification and Elementary Education Certification 1-6. While teaching at the Elementary level, I started tutoring prior students. This is when I realized my love of teaching Math. I then got my certification to teach Mathematics 5th – 9th grade. I have had many trainings throughout the years to help better serve my students.During the last eight years I have tutored Elementary, Middle, and High School students in Math.

I have been working with children for 15 years through various organizations and activities. I have been a fulltime teacher for 2 years and currently teach Kindergarten. I enjoy helping children reach their full potential and seeing their excitement when they master a challenging topic.
I like to show students hands-on methods of solving problems. I believe this helps to make the information concrete and not easily forgotten. I feel each child learns differently and if one method does not succeed there is always another to try until we reach one that works for that child.
