I am a graduate of the University of West Florida with a degree in Elementary Education/ESOL. I am now a student at the University of Florida working towards my masters degree in Reading(K-12). I have my K-6 Florida Teaching Certification, CRP Pro, First Aid, and Lifeguard training. I have work in a Kindergarten and 2nd grade classrooms and have experience tutoring a 3rd grade student in reading comprehension, remedial math, and writing. My teaching style would be best described as creative and improvisational. Because I work with students from such varied backgrounds, I believe that the best method is one that allows for flexibility and at the same time incorporates lessons from several fields at once. For example, in both my GED and ESOL courses I incorporate music into my lesson plans. I find that music is an excellent avenue to explore contemporary topics that can then lead to essay topics. My teaching style is geared more towards each individual child. Some are auditory learners, some learn just by watching and still others require tactile stimulation in order to learn.
