Experience Summary
After earning a Bachelor’s degree in a Social Science from the University of Florida, I feel that I have gained a well rounded education in all areas including English, mathematics, biology and natural sciences.I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Health because I love to learn.
I have been working with children ages 3-14 since I was 15 years old. I spent my summers working as a summer camp counselor. In college I worked for an organization called America Reads and tutored approximately 10 elementary students in reading. Together we read books at their specific reading levels and played games to that allowed them to build better reading and writing skills.
Teaching Style
After working with children for several years, I believe that every child can learn and do great as long as they are shown patience, compassion, and are rewarded for their good work and improvement. I think that learning should be a fun experience that children should look forward to and that's what I strive for when I tutor. I want the children to have a good time learning because that's the most important part. I will help your child be the best that they can be and will work as hard as I can to do achieve this. I keep reading logs and activity logs for the children to measure their progress and many of them improved greatly as weeks went by when I have tutored.
