My teaching style would be best described as creative and improvisational. Because I work with students from such varied backgrounds, I believe that the best method is one that allows for flexibility and at the same time incorporates lessons from several fields at once. For example, in both my GED and ESOL courses I incorporate music into my lesson plans. I find that music is an excellent avenue to explore contemporary topics that can then lead to essay topics. At the same time, song lyrics are poetry and can be studied as such.

After earning a Bachelor’s degree in a Social Science from the University of Florida, I feel that I have gained a well rounded education in all areas including English, mathematics, biology and natural sciences.I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Health because I love to learn. I have been working with children ages 3-14 since I was 15 years old. I spent my summers working as a summer camp counselor.
