Experience Summary
Currently, I am a graduate student in the Counselor Education Department at the University of Florida. I graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Psychology and a Minor in Spanish from the University of Florida in May 2007. While I was earning my Bachelors’ degree I was a tutor for Upward Bound. I tutored high-school students in numerous areas including math, foreign language, reading, and test preparation. After graduation, I became a site coordinator for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida. I tutored elementary aged students during my time with the Boys & Girls Clubs. Ever since I can remember, I have enjoyed working with people; especially youth helping them become successful and build confidence in academics and other areas.
Teaching Style
When I can help other students understand a concept that was once very confusing for them, I feel very satisfied. I am very flexible in my teaching methods. Primarily, I like to understand the learning styles of my student so I know what will best work for them. I will do whatever it takes to make sure the student understands the concept and succeeds. I also like to encourage students by implementing different incentive programs; this will motivate them to continue working hard. I am extremely confident that I will be able to teach my students successfully in a fun and engaging manner.
