I am a Music Education student at Florida Southern College. I also have worked for two years in a Kids Care. I am very good with children, but do have experience for older teenagers as well. I like to teach in an "I do, we do, you do" way. I take the skill and demonstrate it for my student. Then, we practice it together until they gain confidence with the skill, then they demonstrate it to me that they can do that skill. I will do just about what ever needs to be done to help a student. After receiving a Bachelor of Music in Education degree from Youngstown University, Youngstown, Ohio I was employed by the Crestwood Schools, Mantua, Ohio to teach instrumental music. I taught this subject at the middle school level while assisting with the high school program. My entire thirty year career in instrumental music was with the Crestwood School System. During my tenure at Crestwood Middle School the instrumental music program evolved into a vital program within the school involving four bands and over 250 students. During these years and to the present I still am involved in private music lessons and aiding music stores with their instrument recruitment process. I was a member of the Honors program at Valencia Community College, and graduated with my Associates (AA) as a Pre-Major in Elementary Education. I was hired as a Substitute Teacher for Orange County Public Schools in 2007, where I substituted for absent teachers and paraprofessionals in the Orange County Public Schools district. As a Substitute teacher, I taught children individually, as well as in group settings with varying exceptionalities. I also have taught children piano lessons, and french horn lessons in after-school programs. I absolutely love helping children obtain their goals education-wise. I understand that every child is unique, and have unique learning styles; some children learn best visually, others are auditory learners. I have an undergraduate and master's degree, both focused in religious studies. I taught for two years at a private school here in Orlando. I taught middle school English and Bible. I have also been working with Valencia Community College (east campus) as a tutor for many different subject areas. I have also done some tutoring on the side in reading, grammar, math, religion, history, etc. I really love working with young people and helping them to reach their full potential.
