Experience Summary
When I started at UCF, I was invited to join a cohort of students who were on the path to become Educators, the STEP Program. This allowed me early on to get into a classroom and volunteer with students. These early experiences made me know for certain that my passion was in teaching.
In Spring 2010, my degree in Elementary Education was conferred. Over the summer I worked for a Girl Scout day camp, and then was hired by the Citrus Council. I started tutoring with a company in the fall of 2010, and I love my work there so much. I am looking to be able to tutor more children, and expand my experience.
Teaching Style
I like to teach in an "I do, we do, you do" way. I take the skill and demonstrate it for my student. Then, we practice it together until they gain confidence with the skill, then they demonstrate it to me that they can do that skill.
I will do just about what ever needs to be done to help a student. If they need crafts and experiments to let the knowledge sink in, then let's get our hands into it. I do not believe that all students learn the same way, and being a graduate of UCF's College of Education, I feel that I am exceptionally prepared to teach in a multitude of manners.
