My experience in Title I schools has been very exciting and rewarding. I have been able to use my degree in English as a resource for reading and writing and saw great results as my students' skills and interest levels soared as each year progressed. My unique approach to reading which is to stimulate interest in subject areas in advance of presenting materials seems to work wonders for children with limited life experience. Both my undergraduate and graduate collegiate experiences have given me ample knowledge and skills to draw from with regard to teaching and tutoring. The experience of doing it, however, gave me much more. While I was in graduate school at the University of Texas I tutored women athletes. My teaching career began immediately after I finished graduate school in Austin, Texas.
