Each person is different and as a tutor one has to be very empathic, patient, and understanding. By knowing the child you're working with and understanding their way of learning, you can adjust your methods to accommodate them, that way being more effective. I have many years of elementary reading tutoring experience. This started at a young age, as my mother was an elementary public school remedial reading teacher. I was fortunate enough to be able to attend a private school, which left me with certain vacation times differing. Rather than getting a sitter and have me stay home my mother took me to her school with her to have me assist and help out with the students and their reading difficulties.
