Some students have a learning barrier due to their lack of confidence in a given subject, so I believe a part of a tutors job is to build the confidence of a student, allowing them to believe they are able to do whatever they put their mind to. After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill, I spent 8 months working at a wilderness therapy program. At this school I taught students life skills in a wilderness setting. After leaving this school, I spent the summer teaching art at a small summer camp. This past year I worked at a boarding school, located in Western North Carolina. At this school I worked with 15 and 16 year olds, tutoring and helping them with their school work and teaching week-end and extracurricular activities.
