I remember my first tutor in junior high. He helped me gain an understanding beyond just the numbers and the formulas. From his example, I started tutoring friends as a sophomore in high school. I enjoy helping others see beyond the numbers, in understanding the basics, and seeing how everything fits together. I enjoy guiding the way and helping to enlighten children that have that innate curiosity. How many can envision the one (or two) individuals that helped them to see and imagine? I enjoy teaching individuals more than large groups. I enjoy getting to know the interests of those I teach and use that to find ways to motivate students. I am extremely patient and very enthusiastic about student learning. I give constant feedback to the learner and will be quick to praise the student when they are successful.
